Burial & Memorial

Traditional burial lots

Central Cemetery offers single and companion burial lots in beautifully maintained grounds that honor the dignity of each individual laid to rest. Each single grave allows for up to two interments—either one casket and one cremation, or two cremated remains. Burial rights include the option for a headstone monument and foot marker, and all interments follow established guidelines for vaults and grave liners.

Families can schedule appointments to view available lots, and we are happy to assist in making arrangements that reflect your needs and values.

Cremation Options

Cremation, a final disposition practice dating back thousands of years, holds profound spiritual significance among various cultures. Nowadays, choosing cremation can also be a matter of environmental concern or economic constraints.

At Central Cemetery, we offer several cremation interment options. Within a single standard grave, the cremated remains of one person can be added to those of a full burial. Alternatively, a single standard grave can be devoted solely to the cremated remains of two people.

In The Green, there are 105 smaller graves dedicated solely to cremation, each marked by a flat granite memorial stone, situated along a winding path. Benches along the way provide places for rest, reflection, and remembrance, with perennial plantings and flowering trees creating a park-like atmosphere.

During the next phase of the cemetery’s master plan, we anticipate providing memorial gardens for scattered cremation remains, with flat remembrance markers, as well as a green burial area along a woodland path.

Monument Guidelines

Before selecting or designing a monument, we strongly encourage all visitors and License Holders to review our Monument Guidelines. These important policies help preserve the beauty, historic integrity, and contemplative atmosphere of Central Cemetery. They outline the standards for materials, design, placement, and approvals required for all monuments throughout the cemetery, including special guidelines for the historic section and The Green. By reading and following the guidelines, you’ll help ensure that each memorial honors its loved one while contributing to the overall harmony and dignity of this sacred space.
